I would rather be what God chose to make me than the most glorious creature that I could think of; for to have been thought about, born in God’s thought, and then made by God is the dearest, grandest, and most precious thing in all thinking.

Don’t waste your time consuming what makes you weak. Spend your time pressing in for the Presence. Become so intimate with Jesus, so full of Him, that it does not matter what challenges in life present themselves to you. You will be so spiritually full that you can feed a multitude of other people’s needs. Jesus will give you more than enough.

My feelings are not God. God is God. My feelings do not define truth. God’s word defines truth. My feelings are echoes and responses to what my mind perceives. And sometimes - many times - my feelings are out of sync with the truth. When that happens - and it happens every day in some measure - I try not to bend the truth to justify my imperfect feelings, but rather, I plead with God: Purify my perceptions of your truth and transform my feelings so that they are in sync with the truth.

I will charge my soul to believe and wait for Him, and will follow His providence, and not go before it, nor stay behind it.

The best way to find a truly Christ-built man is to stop hunting for one and, instead, pour all of your time and energy into your relationship with Jesus Christ. Allow him to shape you into a lily among thorns. Allow Him to transform you with His radiant beauty; the kind of beauty that will ravish the heart of your King and captivate a Christ-built warrior-poet. A set-apart existence may not turn the head of the typical American guy, but it will capture the heart of a Christlike man.

Take Christ’s word- His promise- and Christ’s sacrifice- His blood- with you to the throne of grace through prayer, and not one of heavens blessings can be denied to you
